Ultra-long Shale Block Development Significantly Accelerated by Anton Hi-performance and Environmental Water-base Drilling Fluid

The borehole instability is still a major challenge for developing those blocks containing ultra-long shale sections around the world that seriously hampers the development rate.

When drilling in an ultra-long water-sensitive shale interval, a conventional Saltwater-based-mud system cannot provide enough inhibition and anti-caving ability to prevent borehole instability. These often result in balling, caving, sticking during tripping and logging, which hinder the development rate of oil and gas exploration and development.
