Process of corrosion and its damage: Acid is generated when Sour gas dissolves into water. And the acid will react with calcium hydroxide in cement slurry (cement stone) and react with C-S-H gel. Which will result in increased permeability and reduced compressive strength. This process will lead to potential channeling in cement sheath.; The foregoing reactions will also decrease the ambient PH value. Casing is more likely to corrode with exposure to oxygen or carbon dioxide, which will lead to shorter well life and economy loss.
 ■ Principle of Anti-corrosion slurry: Utilizing slagment cement system calcium hydroxide will be less generated. ■ Secondary protection: BA -58L or BA -86L is used to further reduce the permeability of cement stone, so as to improve its anti-corrosion property.
Cases: in recent 10 years, this technique has been used in approximately 100 wells in Asia-Pacific region, such as PCSB Resak block, EMEPMI Bintang, etc. These field cases demonstrated its good anti-corrosion performance.
