Gas migration means that the gas from the formation intrudes into the annular between the casing and formation, and then is likely to enter the low pressure zone or migrate to the surface. It may result in different consequences. It will lead to pressure up to the well head and flowing of nature gas, which may cause well abandonment. Currently, It is mainly on a series of methods to prevent gas channeling, includeing two major system -- latex and non-latex systems. Our BA -86L latex system and BA -58L non-latex system are listed as follows.
1. BA -86L latex system ■ Extremely low permeability of cement stone ■ Increased interface gel strenth ■ Enhanced tensile strength and elastic property ■ Less potential shrinkage of cement stone ■ With both film mechanism and tightly-bonding cement matrix, it has double mechanism to prevent gas migration
2. BA -58L non-latex system ■ Effectively reduced permeability of cement stone ■ Strength develops rapidly at beginning stage ■ High stability ■ High applicability ■ Easy to be adjusted
