The Successful Application of Horizontal Well Flow Adjustment and Water Control Technology in Northwest Bureau

Horizontal well flow adjustment and water control technology is a new technology of Antonoil with independent R&D, and was firstly used in Well TK of Sinopec Northwest Bureau on the basis of successful test in Jidong Oilfield.
 
Antonoil completed the construction of the well smoothly, and achieved 2mm choke flow production on Jan. 9, 2010, with daily oil production of 25-30t/d (water free), which primarily shows the advantage of flow adjustment and water control technology and gains acceptance and concern of Party A.
 
Middle-shallow layer of Tahe Area of Sinopec Northwest Bureau is mainly small fault-block massive oil pool with bottom water drive, natural energy is relatively enough, however, the rapid increase of water cut seriously affects the development  of the horizontal wells. The water breakthrough of the horizontal wells is early and water cut rises rapidly due to the serious heterogeneity and bottom water coning in high-permeability intervals of the drilled oil layer. Therefore, flow adjustment and water control completion technology has a bright prospect in optimizing the completion method and slow the bottom water coning in this region.
 
In consideration of the existing production situation of Sinopec Northwest Bureau, based on preliminary data collection and study on reservoir geology, development features and watered out regularity, and after several times of technical exchange and program verification, the flow adjustment and water control completion technology gained the acceptance of Party A with advanced technology, feasibility and safety. Antonoil completed the logging analysis and evaluation, the division of flow control units, report and approval of operation plan, wellhead preparation and the installation of flow control units within two days after Well TK logging results were obtained, ensuring the progress of completion.
 
The successful production of Well TK marks the application of flow adjustment and water control technology achieved preliminary results, however, the long-term effect is to be proved for further evaluation and verification, we have the confidence in applying the new technology more widely, and simultaneously use professional software to strengthen reservoir analysis and design ability in order to improve development effect of horizontal wells.
